SLING TV LAUNCHES "WATCH PARTY" FEATURES

Sling TV announced the addition of the “Sling Watch Party.” The new beta feature allows customers to communicate with their friends and family in remote locations while watching programming together. "We know that for so many, it's not just about what you are watching, it's who you are watching with. SLING Watch Party is all about bringing people together to share in the moments that matter," said Jon Lin, Vice President of Product, Sling TV. "We could all use more time together to enjoy our favorite sports and entertainment, which is why we created this amazing new feature."

“Sling Watch Party” allows users to invite up to three guests to watch the synced live or on-demand program. The feature is now available on Google chrome via compatible devices. The virtual parties may be created up to 60 minutes before air time, for live programs. Invites are made with a link directing guests to the content. Guests will gain accessibility by creating a Sling TV account through a specific beta preview, which ends on 30th September. 

Key components of the feature include video and texting abilities, allowing engagement in real-time while viewing content. Audio and visual controls are also available for all participants, giving them full control over their video camera and the volume of the content streaming and video chat streams received from other participants. 

Player controls were also implemented to allow individuals hosting the watch party to play, pause, and rewind for on-demand programming. Various sorts of Sling TV programming are also available from Sling Orange, SlingBlue, Sling Latino, and Sling International, and Sling TV extra, depending on the consumers’ subscription.
