After two years in a row of being held only virtually due to the pandemic, MIPTV returns to the Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France, from April 4 to 6, 2022, with a three-day exhibition and conference program, featuring MIPDoc and MIPFormats, and in partnership with Canneseries. MIPTV is the longest-running international television market taking place in Cannes each April. It brings together global distributors, producers, buyers, and commissioners of drama, documentaries, kids, factual, and formats programming for a curated week of business meetings, matchmaking opportunities, exclusive market intelligence, conferences sessions, and global networking.

The organizers already confirmed several major international distributors, buyers, and production companies for this year’s much anticipated in-person market. However, for those who are not able to travel, the market will also offer its MIPTV Digital Extension, an online complement extending the reach of the physical market in Cannes and allowing people to connect with all participants at any time.

Starting with an Opening Party at Riviera 8 on the first day of the event, the program offers many highlights such as screenings from companies such as BETA Film, KOCCA, BBC Studios, and TBS; conferences such as the Ukrainian Panel, Market Intel by Glance, Fresh TV Fiction by The Wit, and the Diversity & Inclusion Mentoring Session; and MIPDoc and MIPFormats, which are now integrated into the MIPTV week. MIPTV is also the place to celebrate the best in the TV industry, and major top-class events are organized during market days. The Variety's International Achievement in Television Award, for example, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated leadership and innovation in the global television marketplace. Moreover, the SDG Awards, established in support of the United Nations Decade of Action campaign, recognize media companies for their action and contribution to delivering against the initiative’s seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) internationally.

As the pandemic is not over yet, the event has some safety measures and access conditions. The vaccine pass is not mandatory anymore to access MIPTV. Although it is no longer a legal obligation to wear a mask, the organizers strongly recommend and encourage that all participants wear them inside the Palais des Festivals when they are unable to respect social distancing. To see the full list of companies attending MIPTV 2022 as exhibitors and the floor plan of the Palais des Festivals, click here.
