Canneseries will take off on October 9 with a simultaneous physical and digital edition to allow for a maximum of participation in accordance with international Covid-19 restrictions. As previous years, the physical edition will take place in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès and the Espace Miramar. Meanwhile, digital events will be available on the new Canneseries LIVE platform.
As previously announced, Season 03 will take place alongside the international television market Mipcom (October 12-15), which was also recently confirmed by its organizers, Reed Midem.
Canneseries LIVE is a new digital platform ready to launch this upcoming edition. It will be available for the duration of the festival and will give access to exclusive content such as screenings of episodes in the virtual screening rooms, master classes and exclusive interviews with festival guests.
Furthermore, Canneseries reconfirmed US producer Gale Anne Hurd (“The Terminator,” “The Walking Dead”) as the official competition jury president. The American actress Judith Light (“Who's the Boss,” “Transparent”) will receive the Variety Icon Award.
The selected series are largely the same as announced in February with six of the ten competition titles and nine of the ten short format series reconfirmed. As always, the screenings are open to the general public and free of charge.
