REED MIDEM CONFIRMS MIPCOM 2020 IN OCTOBER

Reed Midem confirmed today that the 36th MIPCOM and the 28th MIP Junior will take place as a live event in Cannes this October. Reed Midem looks forward to hosting the biggest week on international television this October. The 2020 editions of MIPCOM and the MIP Junior will take place as both a physical gathering in Cannes and as a hybrid digital gathering online.

The organization confirmed that the safety of the attendees and staff is its top priority.
To ensure they can gather safely in Cannes, Reed MIDEM and its event partners will have in place rigorous guidelines and advanced safety measures throughout the Palais des Festivals and all of the event venues.

To meet the unprecedented challenges facing television producers, buyers, and distributors, MIPCOM will deliver the most relevant program of screenings, showcases, and talks to inspire your business and point the way forward. The goals of the event will be to support the industry in its efforts to get back to business and profitability, showcase the best new shows and series for distribution or in production, and help kick-start new sales & acquisitions.

Mipcom aims to help buyers and distributors make up for the lost time by showcasing the newest content including finished series, and shows in production or in development. The new Mipcom Global Upfronts will feature multiple days of high-level showcases and screenings covering the best new offerings from Hollywood, the Euro Majors, and International Selections.

Mipcom 2020 will push beyond physical boundaries with its first "ONLINE+ Digital Hybrid Edition," designed to support buyers and participants who can’t travel at this time to connect from home and for participants in Cannes to connect with those at home. Moreover, the MIP Junior digital library will go online starting a full two weeks prior to the market.

Once onsite in Cannes, attendees can screen anywhere using your own laptop or signing in to a limited number of viewing terminals. MIP Junior screening rooms will operate with strict hygiene and physical distancing protocols in place. Post-market, the library will stay online for nine months.
