Cineflix Rights has closed multiple deals. On one side, the company has secured international sales for “Irvine Welsh’s Crime,” while on the other, it has finalized a series of agreements for the beloved cozy crime series “Whitstable Pearl.” This impressive array of new deals showcases Cineflix's ability to cater to various markets and genres.

In recent announcements, Cineflix Rights revealed that “Irvine Welsh’s Crime,” featuring Dougray Scott in his International Emmy award-winning lead role, has been acquired by several prominent platforms. Telefonica´s pay TV service Movistar Plus+ in Spain, SBS in Australia, RTE in Ireland, and Blue Entertainment in Switzerland are among the buyers. Additionally, Canal+ has acquired the series for viewers in Luxembourg, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.

Tim Mutimer, CEO of Cineflix Rights, praised the team; “The combination of Irvine Welsh’s own adaptation of his best-selling novels, together with Dougray Scott’s powerful, award-winning performance, has made this a top-performing series for us with buyers around the world, and we’re anticipating further deals at MIPCOM.The sales were brokered by Sabrina Ayala, Sandra Piha, and Chris Bluett, highlighting the strength of Cineflix's sales team across different regions," stated.

On the other side of the spectrum, Cineflix Rights has announced a slew of international deals for “Whitstable Pearl,” a cozy crime series based on Julie Wassmer’s popular novels. The show, which spans three seasons, features Pearl Nolan (Kerry Godliman) as a restaurateur who juggles running her seafood restaurant with solving crimes in the picturesque seaside town of Whitstable. The series has attracted a wide range of buyers, including Corus (Canada) for French-language drama channel SériesPlus, and RTS in Switzerland, which have both acquired all three seasons. Other notable buyers include Euskal Telebista-EBT (Spain) for Seasons 1 and 2, Warner Bros. Discovery for Season 1 in Italy, and NHK in Japan for Season 2. Season 3 has also seen interest from SVT (Sweden), NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark), TV2 (Denmark), BBC Worldwide for Benelux and Asia, and NBCU International Networks for pan-Africa networks.

Mutimer celebrated the title:Buyers can’t get enough of cozy crime as it remains one of the most in-demand drama genres. ‘Whitstable Pearl’ delivers the perfect mix of quirky plots, loveable characters, and a beautiful seaside landscape, really bringing Julie Wassmer’s novels to life for fans around the world," commented.

With this dual strategy, Cineflix Rights is not only solidifying its position in the competitive landscape of international content distribution but also demonstrating its ability to cater to a diverse audience, proving that its offerings resonate well across genres and markets.
