During an act held at FITUR Screen, the seventh edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment was officially presented. The event will take place again at the Palacio de Congresos El Greco in Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, from June 26 to 29.

In the presentation, held within the framework of the Feria Internacional de Turismo de Madrid (FITUR), took part Patricia Franco, Minister of Economy, Business and Employment of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha; and Géraldine Gonard, Director of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment.

During the event it was confirmed that Mexico and Poland will be the focus countries of America and Europe, respectively. The event organizer also reviewed the main conclusions of last year's Think Tank, announced the opening of the five international calls for project pitching, and revealed new strategic alliances with other international forums, such as Series Mania and MIA - International Audiovisual Market.

Furthermore, Franco highlighted the impact in the region of the last edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment in Toledo, and celebrated the fact that the event is being hosted once again in Castilla-La Mancha. In addition, the counselor emphasized the work of the Castilla-La Mancha Film Commission as a consolidated contact tool with the audiovisual industry, which has allowed the management and direct collaboration in more than 160 shoots, and has processed more than 1.200 permits, in addition to have a professional catalog of locations that includes more than 1.000 spaces throughout the region.

“We work all year with other international events, and we are constantly coordinating activities, promoting, and in many cases representing, the Spanish industry and the international projects that participate in Conecta. We also work so that Spain can have a true international forum in which audiovisual business is built, from content creation, talent movement and business agreements. Thtat is our commitment since the first edition, and the results support us, with a dozen series born in Conecta. Once again, we are going to work to connect both sides of the Atlantic, because that has always been our main objective for the last seven years. In view of the results obtained, we know that fortunately we are achieving it,”  Géraldine Gonard said.
