"Crazy about you"
Globo begins 2025 at Content Americas, an event aimed at the Latin and Hispanic markets, with telenovelas, series, documentaries and formats, in addition to the launch of "She’s The One". On the 21st, at 1:15 PM, the company will also be promoting the event ‘Globo 360: the future has already begun’. With the presence of actress Sophie Charlotte ("Rebirth" and "All The Flowers"), the showcase will celebrate Globo's 100th anniversary. With stories that inspire, unite, and spark the imagination of the entire world, the brand celebrates the power of collaboration and invites everyone to create a future together. The following day, at 3:15 PM, Manuel Belmar, Director of Digital Products, Finance, Legal, and Infrastructure at Globo, will participate in the panel ‘Content Strategies: Globoplay’ to discuss content and opportunities for international partnerships.
Currently airing on TV Globo, "She’s The One" is written by Alessandra Poggi ("A Trick of Fate") with artistic direction by Natalia Grimberg. In the plot, set in the 1950s, Beatriz (Duda Santos, from "Rebirth") has believed since she was four years old that she was abandoned by her mother, Clarice (Carol Castro, from "Orphans of a Nation"). But she doesn't know that, in reality, Clarice lost her memory in a serious accident. Sixteen years later, when she finally discovers her mother's whereabouts, Beatriz finds herself faced with another Bia (Maisa) in her place and must deal with this new reality, beginning a journey – full of struggles – of reconciliation with the past.
By João Emanuel Carneiro ("Brazil Avenue"), with artistic direction by Carlos Araujo, "Crazy About You" is also a highlight in the portfolio for Content Americas. Airing in prime time in Brazil, the telenovela starts with the friendship between two young women, Viola (Gabz, from "Perfect Love") and Luma (Agatha Moreira, from "Hidden Truths"), who seem destined to literally enter each other's lives. Their journey is split between complicity and rivalry, placing them in a love quartet with Mavi (Chay Suede, from "A Mother’s Love") and Rudá (Nicolas Prattes, from "All The Flowers"). The story unfolds through a series of developments, twists, and surprises, including a secret surrounding a murder.
In unscripted formats, Globo launches "What A Wonderful Cuisine Class," a reality television cooking competition featuring celebrities who don't know how to cook, alongside a host with the fun mission of transforming them into chefs, and "Making the Party," where in each episode, a children’s party is created using the DIY principle, with simple and inventive ideas making all the difference. In scripted formats, the telenovelas "The Life We Lead," "Total Dreamer," and "Hidden Truths" are key highlights for the event. Within this business model, the company recently announced at MIPCOM the sale of "The Others" to Greece and German-speaking countries/regions and "Justice: Life Is Not Fair" to Greece.
Globo will also present at Content Americas the telenovela "Rebirth," based on the work of Benedito Ruy Barbosa, written by Bruno Luperi and directed by Gustavo Fernández, the same team responsible for "Pantanal." The story is one of the nominees for the Rose d'Or Latinos in the category of Best Telenovela. Among the Globoplay Originals, the highlights include the series "The Others" and the documentary series "Xuxa, A Life On TV" and "Robinho Case."
Angela Colla, Head of International Business and Coproductions praised the porfolio:“We have a varied portfolio that shows that Globo can be a strategic partner for different business models, according to the client’s needs. Content Americas is the first major event of the year, where we can strengthen relationships with our partners and foster new conversations. We are excited about the opportunities that will appear throughout 2025, which is a celebratory year for Globo, with the 100th anniversary of the brand, 60 years of TV Globo, and 10 years of Globoplay," stated.
