Content Americas has announced that Mexican actor and producer Eugenio Derbez, a SAG and Emmy award winner, is the first confirmed speaker for its 2025 edition. Derbez will participate in a keynote where he will share the milestones of his distinguished career and discuss how his company, 3Pas Studios, develops authentic stories for Hispanic audiences and forges lasting alliances with talent and industry players.
The executive will also receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the second edition of the Rose d'Or Latinos, whose final gala will be held within the framework of Content Americas. Born in Mexico City, Derbez starred in the Oscar-winning film "CODA" (Apple TV+), which won two Academy Awards, including Best Picture in 2021.
Together with his producing partner Ben Odell, he co-founded 3Pas Studios, which has become a prolific producer of English and Spanish content aimed at U.S. Hispanic and Latin American audiences. 3Pas Studios is behind box office hits like "Overboard" and "How to Be a Latin Lover," and streaming successes like "Valet" on Hulu and "Acapulco" on Apple TV+, which recently premiered its third season. Their unscripted shows "LOL" and "De viaje con los Derbez" are two of the most-watched titles on Amazon in Latin America. More recently, Derbez starred in and produced "Radical," which premiered at Sundance and won the Audience Award over 110 other festival films.
In 2013, Derbez wrote, produced, starred in, and directed "Instructions Not Included." With a budget of just $5 million, the film grossed $100 million, becoming the highest-grossing Spanish-language film worldwide, a record it still holds.
For the past 25 years, Derbez has produced and starred in his own comedy shows, achieving the highest ratings for a Spanish-language comedy on TV. His shows continue to attract audiences across Latin America and the United States through reruns on the Hispanic network Univision. With 80 million followers across all platforms, Derbez is considered one of the most influential people in the world on social media.
Finally, in 2016, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce reported that his star ceremony had one of the largest turnouts of all time.
