INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY ANNOUNCES HOST AND PRESENTERS

Stand-up comedian and actor Ronny Chieng, a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” and star of “Crazy Rich Asians,” will host the 47th International Emmy Awards Gala on Monday, November 25, in New York City.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its host and special Awards presenter line-up. Stand-up comedian and actor Ronny Chieng, a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” and star of “Crazy Rich Asians,” will host the 47th International Emmy Awards Gala on Monday, November 25, in New York City.

Born in Malaysia, and raised in the United States and Singapore, Chieng has sold out multiple global stand-up comedy theater tours in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Canada and the United Kingdom. He also co-wrote and starred in his own television comedy series "Ronny Chieng: International Student," which aired on ABC Australia, the BBC, Comedy Central Asia and Comedy Central in the US. Furthermore, Chieng is set to release his upcoming Netflix comedy special in December.

On the other hand, businesswoman, philanthropist, author and former model Iman will present the Directorate Award to CNN Chief International Anchor Christiane Amanpour.

Actor Conleth Hill, known worldwide for his role as Lord Varys in “Game of Thrones” will present the Founders Award to the show's creators and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Lord Varys, present until the final season, plays a pivotal role in many of the series' plot twists.
