The first meeting point of this year’s Kyiv Media Week will be the Serial Killer International Festival of TV and Online Series that presents and connects producers and creators from all over Europe. The Festival is held annually in Brno, Czech Republic, and over the course of five days offers a great selection of international premieres, competition of TV and web series It is the first event of this kind in CEE, thus it has already become an international platform for professionals, academics and viewers who define and motivate the series production.

Days ago, Kyiv Media Week’s organizers confirmed that this year the International Media Forum will be held in a traveling format representing guest sessions developed in partnership with three European festivals and markets. Traditionally, the event was held annually in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. Although the full scale of the Russian invasion foiled the plan, KMW will continue its mission of highlighting the current state of the Ukrainian audiovisual industry and facilitating its development and integration into the global media market.

“I am very proud that the great event Kyiv Media Week will become part of our festival programme this year. Its organizers and speakers will be standing side by side with representatives of Netflix and other important TV professionals coming to Brno from various corners of Europe, including Sweden as the country of this year’s focus. Already in 2019 – thanks to the excellent ‘Hide and Seek’ series – it was obvious that Ukrainian creators were truly keeping up with the world series trends. And that it is always a pleasure to cooperate with them as well,”  said Kamila Zlatušková, Founder & CEO of Serial Killer Festival.

“Our Ukrainian colleagues are facing great evil these days, and disinformation attacks are just one of its forms. I believe quality private and public TV services are one of the best weapons against injustice, lies and authoritarian propaganda. I am keeping my fingers crossed for all the Ukrainian people – but also for the rest of us in Europe – for this battle to be a victorious one,”  Zlatušková added.
