With the aim of expanding its offering to the international market, Globo will begin marketing its unscripted formats during the LA Screenings Independents, an international audiovisual sector event taking place in May in California. In addition to the telenovelas and series present in the portfolio, formats of different programs and sections will also be available, which can be locally adapted to other territories. The two products to be launched at the event as unscripted formats are the programs "Family Size" and "PopStar," aired on Brazilian television in 2016 and 2017. This move is a way to continue the strategy of bringing Globo product formats to more international audiences. The most recent example is the agreement with the production company Ay Yapım for the adaptation of the telenovela "Brazil Avenue."

"Family Size" is a game show in which the families of two celebrities compete against each other in fun games that reveal past facts, details, and unknown facts to the audience. Meanwhile, "PopStar" is a musical reality show where professionals from various showbiz fields have the opportunity to fulfill the dream of competing to become the next star. In this format, participants have the opportunity to shine in a new way, unknown to the audience. Each performance is evaluated by a team of experts, the audience, and the public.

During the LA Screenings Independents, Globo will also continue to invest in the scripted model and will make available to the international market various products such as the telenovelas "All the Flowers" and "The Other Side of Paradise"; the successes "The Clone" and "The Favorite"; the telenovela "Total Dreamer", which was nominated for Best Telenovela at the International Emmy Awards in 2017; the winner of the International Emmy for Best Telenovela in 2016, "Hidden Truths"; and "Justice: Life is not fair", the series nominated for two awards at the International Emmy Awards in 2017.

Gabriel Bonelli, Head of International Sales, referred to the company's international strategy: "Distributing Globo's products in scripted formats is a way to offer the rest of the world the best that Brazil has to offer in the audiovisual sector, with the possibility of adding a local touch or bringing a past success to current times. We have noticed a great interest in our major hits, in line with the commercial potential we had identified. Unscripted formats, on the other hand, are the natural evolution of this model, and that's why the original format of our big hits from Sunday programs, reality shows, game shows, among others, will be added to our sales portfolio, generating value for our partners and entertaining audiences worldwide," he elaborated.
