Blue Ant Media’s revealed the slate of programming it has selected to present at Mipcom this fall. The list includes series and documentaries across multiple genres including crime, factual entertainment, formats, and nature, wildlife and environment. “Blue Ant Media is heading into Mipcom with the largest catalog of programming it's ever seen, alongside a roster of experts who lead all pillars of our business from markets around the world,” Co-president, Blue Ant Studios, Mark Bishop, said.
The lineup strategically supports the company’s recent announcement to merge production and distribution operations with marblemedia into one unified studio and rights business with hubs in Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and London, providing an even deeper well of expertise in international programming and distribution. With fresh content from renowned third-party production partners around the world and new and returning series and formats from Blue Ant Media’s expanded library, the slate brings broadcasters and steamers a dynamic content offering that is set up to satisfy all audiences. “Our expanded slate of premium content across a wide array of genres enables us to even better serve international clients across all platforms," Bishop said. "We’re looking forward to kicking off these conversations as a unified company in Cannes next month.”
For true crime, the catalog includes "The Playboy Bunny Murder" by Future Studios, Soho Studios, ITVX, in which journalist and author Marcel Theroux takes viewers to the enchantment and exoticism of the Playboy Club in London’s swinging seventies, "The Murder Retrial" by Screendog Productions, Channel 4, a new format that examines and tests the jury system, and "Body In The Suitcase" by Transistor Films, a two-part special, that takes viewers deep into the shocking twists and turns of an unprecedented case in June 2021.
The documentary section includes "Mr. Dressup: The Magic of Make-Believe," by marblemedia & Hawkeye Pictures, Prime Video, in association with CBC, based on the life and career of legendary Canadian children’s entertainer, Ernie Coombs, or, as he is more commonly known by millions of fans, Mr Dressup.
The list also includes the factual entertainment titles, which are "Best In Miniature," season 4 of "Race Against The Tide," "Supercar Showroom," and "Great Australian Walks," as well as a Nature, wildlife and environment section, which includes "Dynamic Planet" by NHNZ Worldwide, "Dynamic Planet (4 x 60' 4K; NHNZ Worldwide," "Macaque Island" by Beach House Pictures, "My Best Friend’s An Animal" by Big Wave, "Deep Dive Australia" by Big Wave and "Levison Wood: Walking With…" by October Films.
History lovers can look out for "Silk Road from Above" by Beach House Pictures, "Israel from Above" by Ananey Studios, "JFK: The Final Evidence" by Coleman Television," while science lovers can view "Neu Earth" by Beach House Pictures and "Apocalypse Plan B" by Grand Passage Media. The Paranormal section includes "History's Most Haunted" by Small Army Entertainment.
