For its 16th participation at MIPCOM, French distributor Beliane will present a selection of new documentaries covering contemporary issues, history, and art. The line-up features investigative true crime, explorations of artistic legacy, and geopolitical case studies, each linked to current events or exhibitions, reflecting Beliane’s focus on compelling stories with international appeal.

"Pleiades, Victims of a Serial Killer" (7x52’) produced by Parrot with a Carrot (Cyprus) is set in 2019, when Cyprus was shaken by the arrest of its first serial killer, who preyed on vulnerable migrant women and two children, originally from Asia and Romania. The series is currently in post-production and offered for international pre-sale; early interest has been expressed by Planet+ Poland. Legal and editorial clearances have been completed.

"Georges de La Tour, The Shadow and The Flame" (52'), produced by Cerigo Films for France Televisions, celebrates the mysterious brilliance of Georges de La Tour, a painter who transformed darkness into radiance.  The film has been sold to the Czech Republic and has attracted early interest from Portugal.

"Varosha, A City in Limbo", produced by Cined & Nola Films for France Televisions, tells the story of Varosha, once a glamorous resort town in Cyprus, which has been abandoned since 1974 and remains a symbol of division on the island. The 1x52’ film is currently in post-production and available for European pre-sale. Editorial and legal clearances have been completed.
