Norse Key Studios and Film Tampere host International Emmy Awards semi-final judging sessions

Norse Key Studios and Film Tampere will host one of the 2025 International Emmy® Awards semi-final judging sessions in Tampere, as the jury for the Sports Documentary category meets in the city.

Film Tampere highlighted the event’s alignment with Tampere’s broader cultural strategy. “Film Tampere, together with the region’s growing audiovisual ecosystem, has worked for years to establish Tampere as a city of experiences and stories. It is an honor for us to showcase Finland’s favorite city and its creative talent to world-class guests from our industry,” commented Fanny Heinonen, Program Director of Film Tampere.

Norse Key Studios, which specializes in international sales of Nordic television and film rights and also acts as executive producer on projects requiring international financing, underscored the significance of this milestone. “Our mission is to bring distinctive Nordic and international stories to a global audience. Hosting a judging event for the International Emmy® Awards competition in the Sports Category in the City of Sports Tampere is a huge honor for me and Norse Key Studios Ltd.,” said Maria Kivinen, Director of Sales.

The event, organized by Norse Key Studios in collaboration with Film Tampere, forms a key part of the global selection process for the International Emmy® Awards, which celebrate international excellence in television and streaming productions. The judging panel will comprise around ten international professionals from the audiovisual industry, representing major streaming platforms and television networks worldwide. Tampere will be the only Finnish city to host an International Emmy® Awards judging session in 2025.

Alongside the judging sessions, an exclusive evening reception will bring together industry leaders, creative talents, and cultural influencers, offering a networking platform with the international jury.

The International Emmy® Awards are organized by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, founded in 1969, and have honored television programming produced outside the United States since 1973.

The Tampere event is supported by the City of Tampere, Business Tampere, Visit Tampere, film equipment rental company Valofirma, ICS Nordic, and Courtyard by Marriott hotel.
