The Royal Television Society (RTS), has launched the RTS Craft & Design Awards 2022, sponsored by Apple TV+, accepting entries from today until 9 September 2022. Open to both broadcasters and individual crafts people, the awards aim to recognise the huge variety of skills and processes involved in programme making. New this year, the RTS is introducing a brand-new category for Production Management. With entries accepted from any genre of programming, this award will celebrate excellence in financially, logistically and collaboratively managing a complex project, helping realise a creative vision.

Entries are now open across all 29 competitive categories ranging from Music – Original Score to Director – Drama and Effects. Chair of the Awards, Ade Rawcliffe, said: “Over the past year it has been incredible to watch the industry bounce back and recover, creating impactful and innovative high-quality content that is a testament to the UK television community. The RTS Craft & Design Awards is a great opportunity to celebrate this extraordinary work and the widest range of talent; and we are very much looking forward to welcoming entries for this year.”

The juries take into careful consideration production differences, budget and time scale involved and, in line with other RTS awards, the RTS stresses that entrants should show awareness of the need to recognise diversity in the industry and the wider community when submitting their content.

All entries must have been first transmitted between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, and the deadline for submissions is 9 September 2022.
