Royal Television Society reveals RTS Television Journalism Awards nominees

Across the 20 competitive categories, ITV leads the way with 16 nominations, receiving two nods in multiple categories.

The Royal Television Society (RTS), has shortlisted the nominations for the RTS Television Journalism Awards 2024, in partnership with Wolftech and Dataminr. The prestigious awards ceremony will take place on 28th February 2024, hosted by Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Across the 20 competitive categories, ITV leads the way with 16 nominations, receiving two nods in multiple categories including Nations and Regions News and News Coverage – Home. The BBC closely follows with 13 nominations, dominating the Nations and Regions Factual categories receiving all three nods.

Sky will head to the awards ceremony with 11 nominations, one of which is for the Scoop of the Year category alongside Channel 4 and ITV. In the coveted News Channel of the Year category, Sky News, Al Jazeera English and the BBC News Channel will compete for the award.

Celebrating creativity and excellence in journalism for both news and current affairs, the awards also recognise the Emerging Young Talent of the Year, for which the 2024 nominations are Yousef Hammash for Channel 4 News, Joshua Stokes for Granada Reports ITV and Ruben Reuter for Channel 4 News.
