ITV has announced the five production companies selected for the second year of "Amplify: The Regions", its initiative designed to strengthen ties with independent producers across the UK and accelerate collaboration.
The chosen companies are Beagle Media (Newquay), Bright Branch (Cardiff), High Rock Media (Northern Ireland), Osprey Television (Deeside, North Wales) and Studio Something (Leith, Edinburgh). Each has been paired with one of ITV’s commissioners and will receive £5,000 in development funding to respond to a brief.
The commissioners involved are Tom Giles, Controller of Current Affairs (Beagle Media); Kate Teckman, Factual Entertainment Commissioning Editor (Studio Something); Louise Major, Entertainment Commissioning Editor (Bright Branch Media); Amanda Stavri, Reality Commissioning Editor (Osprey Television); and Leanne Clarke, Daytime Commissioner (High Rock Media).
If projects are greenlit, they will progress through ITV’s standard commissioning process. Should ideas not move forward with ITV, companies retain the option to pitch them elsewhere.
"Amplify: The Regions" is part of ITV’s broader commitment to champion regional voices and ensure that stories from across the UK reach its platforms. The broadcaster noted that the first year of the initiative delivered strong results, including ongoing commissioner/producer relationships, active developments in progress, and a greenlit unscripted commission.
By investing in regional talent, ITV aims to deepen its collaboration with independent producers and continue to diversify the stories it brings to screen.
