RTVE CLOSED MULTIPLE DEALS AT MIPCOM

The thriller "Malaka", the new fiction presented by the Spanish company in this market, aroused interest from various operators from countries as different as United States, Greece and Germany.

RTVE presented its extensive catalog of international content and channels during the latest edition of Mipcom. The thriller "Malaka", the new fiction presented by the Spanish company in this market, aroused interest from various operators from countries as different as United States, Greece and Germany.

The rest of this year’s premieres of fiction, which were already presented on MIPTV in March, continue to attract great attention. In that way, an agreement was closed for the sale of “La caza. Monteperdido” to an open TV operator in Italy. In addition, conversations were initiated with operators from the Balkans and Eastern Europe, as well as Japan, Greece, United States, Croatia and Israel.

Agreements were also concluded that expand the number of countries for series such as "La otra mirada" and "Estoy Vivo ", which debuted new seasons this year, and "Hospital Valle Norte", which premiered at the beginning of 2019. As for the rest of the catalog's titles, shows such as “La Señora”, “El Caso, crónica de sucesos,” and “Pelotas” have aroused a lot of interest too.

"El Ministerio del Tiempo", available on Netflix, was sold to FTA operators in the Balkan countries, and also generated interest from various operators in Colombia and Israel. Furthermore, the daily series “Derecho a Soñar” was sold to be broadcasted by operators of FTA TV and SVOD platforms in the Middle East and United States.

The wide range of documentaries that RTVE offers also attracted the attention of many buyers: agreements were signed for the sale of several packages of documentaries of different genres to different countries, such as France, Russia or Uruguay.

The titles that stood out the most were “El equipo D. Los códigos olvidados,” “La Momia Guanche,” “El Valle de los Caídos, la tumba del dictador,” “¡Ay Carmen!,” “Carlos V, los caminos del Emperador,” and “Esférica”.

Moreover, the digital series of Playz channel continue to be attractive to many operators from countries in the Middle East, United States and France, some of which have shown interest in acquiring a package for broadcast.

Despite the rise of streaming TV, international RTVE channels continue to receive wide acceptance. In this Mipcom, new distribution agreements were signed, both for the complete package of the four channels and for individual networks, with distributors from Belgium, Peru, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, New Zealand, Israel, Australia, Armenia and Moldova.
