Series Mania 2025 gathered 5,000 professionals from 75 countries

With over 108,000 attendees and 5,000 professionals from 75 countries, Series Mania 2025 set new records in Lille. Spanish, Canadian, and Israeli series took top honors across major competitions.

The 2025 edition of Series Mania wrapped up in Lille with a record-breaking turnout and a slate of prestigious awards honoring outstanding international series. With more than 108,000 festivalgoers—10,000 more than last year—and 5,000 professionals from 75 countries attending the Forum, Series Mania further cemented its status as a key global hub for the television industry.

The Grand Prize in the International Competition went to "QuerER" (Spain), produced and distributed by Movistar Plus+, while "Empathy" (Canada), aired on CRAVE, took home the coveted Audience Award. The International Competition jury, led by Pamela Adlon, also honored "The German" (Israel/U.S.A) for Best Writing, and awarded acting honors to Lili Reinhart ("Hal & Harper", USA) and Luca Marinelli ("Mussolini: Son of the Century", France/Italy).

In the French Competition, "37 Secondes" (ARTE) won Best Series, with acting prizes going to Elsa Guedj ("Le Sens des Choses") and Arthur Dupont ("La Famille Rose"). The Best Original Score was awarded to Anthony D’Amario and Edouard Rigaudière for "Log Out".

The International Panorama section celebrated "Celeste" (Spain) as Best Series, while Iran’s "At the End of the Night", directed by Ida Panahandeh, received Best Directing. Matthew Gurney ("Reunion", UK) and Carmen Machi ("Celeste", Spain) were named Best Actor and Actress, respectively. A student jury honored Norway’s "Requiem for Selina".

In the Short Forms Competition, Denmark’s "One of Us is Trembling" won Best Series, while "El’Sardines" (Algeria/France) received a special mention. "Wingspan" (Germany) earned the student jury award.

The 2025 festival featured appearances by stars such as Amanda Seyfried, Christina Hendricks, and Charlie Brooker, alongside prominent French talents. Series Mania+ will stream the winning series and Forum content until December 31, 2025.

Next year’s dates have already been announced: Series Mania will return to Lille from March 20–27, 2026, with the Forum set for March 24–26.
