A group consisting of the top London-based international distributors, including All3media International, Banijay Rights, Eone, Fremantle, and ITV Studios have announced the establishment of next year's Londong Screenings. The companies have been in collaboration to coordinate the spring event.

The event will be held virtually next year but is expected to return to its physical setting in 2022. “Over previous years, the week in London post-BBC Studios Showcase has become a destination for key buyers around the world,” a spokesperson said. “This has been down to the caliber of the events and presentations arranged by the key London-based distributors.”

While the screenings have been taking place for several years around the time of BBC Studios Showcase, the London Screenings will be officially named as such and will take place as an annual event led by the group, effective March 2021. The London Screenings will launch on 1 March 2021 following the BBC Studios Showcase, which is scheduled to take place from 22-24 February 2021.

The extended time-frame allows for the demands on buyers’ time in a virtual world. “Having listened to our buyers, the logical evolution is for those companies to bring buyers a fully curated series of quality showcases across two weeks, each planned to avoid screening conflicts and all under the official banner of The London Screenings,” the spokesperson said.
