APC Kids is spotlighting its debut production, “Lana Longbeard” (52x11'), a 2D animated adventure-comedy co-produced by Canada’s Copernicus, aimed at kids aged 6 and up. The show has secured major broadcasters, including Warner Bros. Discovery for EMEA, SUPER RTL in Germany, M6 Group’s Gulli in France, and CBC in Canada. “All our partners are very happy, and production is running smoothly, on schedule. We’ll deliver 26 episodes in January 2025, and another 26 in July,” shared Lionel Marty, Managing Director at APC Kids.

The company will be presenting the first episode of “Lana Longbeard” at MIP Junior. The series follows Lana, a feisty, forward-thinking 12-year-old who is heir to her father’s adventuring ship, the Mighty Windbreaker. Alongside her captain dad and his diverse crew—an orc, a dwarf, a barbarian, and a cyclops—Lana sails across the Ten Realms, determined to become one of the greatest adventurers of all time. But first, she must overcome a series of challenging obstacles. “It’s a comedy adventure series, but with heart. It delivers a really meaningful message for kids,” Marty emphasized.

Marty also revealed plans for a video game based on “Lana Longbeard”, given the show’s quest-like narrative. “Lana’s journey across the realms with her dad and the crew lends itself perfectly to a video game format,” he explained.

DIVERSIFYING TO STAND OUT
APC Kids continues to seek new projects to diversify its catalog. “We aim to diversify our content and appeal to all target groups, from preschoolers to teens,” Marty affirmed. Reflecting this strategy, APC Kids is expanding into live-action content for teens, with the new series “High Hoops” (10x30) set to be promoted at MIP Junior. Produced by CanCan Productions for CBBC, the show follows a confident but accident-prone basketball player who joins a struggling school team and must help turn their season around. “It’s a typical comedy series for teenagers, but like all our shows, it comes with a lot of heart,” the executive added.
