In its latest study about SVOD demand in Canada, Parrot Analytics revealed which were the most outstanding series in the country during September. The company contextualized each title within the market by stating the show's performance as different from the average demand for a series in the market. A difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is ten times more in demand than the average TV show in this market.

The most in-demand digital original in Canada for the month of September was “Ted Lasso,” from Apple TV+. The series premiered its second season on July 23 and concluded on October 8. It also won big at the Emmys on September 20, which attracted even more attention to the show.

Meanwhile, “The Mandalorian,” the hit show from Disney+, is proving to be a perennial favorite in Canada. Despite its latest season premiering a year ago, the series still ranks as the second most in-demand digital original in this market.

Two series from Hulu also made it into the top 10 most in-demand digital original in Canada this month: “Nine Perfect Strangers” was the fifth most in-demand original, while “Only Murders in the Building” took the tenth place. Both shows have been among the most globally in-demand new series premieres to date. “Nine Perfect Strangers” had its finale on September 22, while “Only Murders in the Building” concluded on October 19.
