Tubi’s Chief Content Officer Adam Lewinson and TV Azteca’s Chief Digital Officer Emilio Aliaga talked about the surge in AVOD consumption behaviors in Mexico following Tubi’s launch through its partnership with TV Azteca earlier this year.
The show will bypass broadcast in the U.S., Latin America for its debut on Pluto TV. The channel is set to debut on the platform later this month in the US, followed by LATAM.
The four sessions that made up the event's third day featured speakers from Tubi, Telemundo, Univison, Quibi, among others, who spoke about AVOD growth, monetization and distribution tactics, and the importance of news.
The digital event kicked off with the participation of executives from HBO Max, Pluto TV, PBS, among other media platforms. They discussed new strategies for content acquisition, the increasing popularity of AVOD services, and how to simplify the content distribution process.
Three out of ten US consumers have reconsidered their SVOD services due to financial struggles, while 37% said they would try new ad-supported streaming services to discover new content, and others take advantage of free trials.
