As cord-cutters look for ways to stay connected to live and local programming, multicultural audiences are embracing over-the-air (OTA) antennas, according to Horowitz Research’s “State of OTA 2021” study.
During last year, services actively used major tentpole programming and price promotions as two of the primary levers to drive acquisition, Antenna noted in its latest study, entitled “Year in Streaming Report”.
The title, created and produced by Snowman Productions has been acquired by M6, Antenna TV in Greece, Planet TV in Slovenia, and RTL, among various other broadcasters.
Netherlands-headquartered media company Antenna Group has appointed veteran European TV executive Bert Habets, a former CEO of Germany’s RTL Group, as its CEO.
With this new acquisition, the Greece-based company will expand its pay-tv reach to 90% and reach additional European countries, which include Poland, Hungary, Czechia, Romania, and Bulgaria, among various others.
