The licensing agreement for the five-part limited time series, produced by Red Production Company and commissioned by Channel 4 and HBO Max, serves as the most recent acquisition on behalf of the service.
The series will air on the network in the U.S. and Canada and on its international streaming platform Starzplay across Europe, Latin America and Japan.
The multi-year agreement with one of the world's largest Japanese anime providers opens doors for Starzplay to offer this highly popular entertainment form.
The service's number of subscribers stands at 1.8 million subscribers, with a local market share of more than 32%. It hopes to reach a range of $120 million to $150 million in revenue. Projections indicate that the number of users will double over the next three to four years to around 4 million.
