According to research conducted by Deloitte, despite efforts to adapt, streaming video services continue to grapple with challenges such as high expenses, customer turnover, and rivalry from alternative media formats.
More than a third (35%) of people with access to a subscription video on-demand (SVOD) service in the UK are sharing at least one of their subscriptions with others outside their home, according to Deloitte’s latest report.
Despite an almost complete loss of matchday revenue in the 2020/21 season, the European football market grew defiantly in revenue terms by 10% to €27.6 billion, according to Deloitte’s “Annual Review of Football Finance” report.
Across all five countries surveyed by Deloitte in its latest report —the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, and Japan— Gen Z respondents cited playing video games as their favorite entertainment activity.
In the United States, the average churn rate has remained consistent since 2020 at about 37% across all paid SVOD services, according to Deloitte’s latest report.
