Under the new name and brand identity, early Peyo characters, including “The Smurfs” and other IPs, will be revived using modern animation with new stories inspired by the original “Johan & Peewit” and “Benny Breakiron” comic books.
During the online event, IMPS execs revealed details about the upcoming series and movie, as well as, the new marketings campaigns, publishing, consumer products and family entertainment experiences.
In events scheduled across the globe, players will immerse themselves in a unique experience which combines augmented reality with the physical world to turn their hometown into the setting of a brand new Smurfs adventure.
The companies have inked a deal to produce multiple feature films based on the iconic animated Peyo's brand, starting with the musical movie debut in 2024.
