Salvadoran viewers are again following the emotions of one of the great successes of Globo and the author Glória Perez. Since July 3rd, the award-winning telenovela "India – a love story" has returned to the channel of TCS Channel 6 at 3:00 PM, joining "Pride and Passion" which is also on the channel. Winner of the International Emmy for Telenovela in 2009, "India – a love story" re-hosted in place of another Globo production, "Crashing Into the Future", in addition to other Central American territories with Globo contents on display, such as Costa Rica, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Panama.

Story directed by Marcos Schechtman (‘America’ and ‘Amazonia’), the telenovela presents the forbidden passion between two Indians of different origins: Maya Meetha (Juliana Paes), belonging to a traditional family of the merchant caste, and Bahuan (Márcio Garcia), a young man who is graduating in the United States, is an employee of an American company, but he never forgot the humiliations he suffered in childhood as a result of being a Dalit, an untouchable – considered impure and condemned to not even touch any castes member with his shadow.

Unaware that Bahuan is a Dalit, Maya falls in love with the young man when she is about to have a wedding arranged by her parents Manu (Osmar Prado) and Kochi (Nívea Maria) with Raj (Rodrigo Lombardi), son of Opash (Tony Ramos) and Indira (Eliane Giardini). Both of them have never met each other, but their parents strictly follow the country’s traditions, such as the custom of marrying their children with people they approve of.

In love with Bahuan, Maya agrees to flee with him to the United States, but the disagreements cause the young man to leave alone to make his fortune in the American country. Feeling abandoned and unable to be in touch with her great passion, Maya despairs when she finds out she is pregnant and decides to marry Raj. But Raj is also in love with another woman. On his frequent business trips to Rio de Janeiro, he met the Brazilian Duda (Tânia Khallil), with whom he made plans for the future. The Indian, however, does not have the courage to face his parents and break with family tradition, and ends the love relationship to marry Maya. Their marriage is troubled by Maya’s guilt, which is plagued by hiding her husband's truth about her son’s paternity.

"India – a love story" has been licensed to more than 110 countries, including Africa, North America, South and Central America, United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, France, Portugal, among others.
