"A Party To Die For"
ITV Studios and Talpa Studios announced that their sizzling murder mystery format "A Party To Die For" has landed its first international commission in France, titled "Murder Party au Musée", produced by ITV Studios France to air on M6. Simultaneously, SBS6 in the Netherlands has ordered a second season of the show following the success of its debut episode in 2023 and first season in 2024, which doubled SBS6’s primetime average.
The French adaptation, currently in production at the renowned Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris, is set to become an event show hosted by iconic French actor Francis Huster. The show will see celebrities gathering at the museum, but the cheerful atmosphere quickly turns tense when a (fictional) murder is committed — and the killer is one of the guests. Each celebrity becomes a suspect and must take on a series of challenges — solo, in pairs, or in teams — to uncover the truth. Clues and revelations are discovered along the way, all within the closed setting of the narrative.
Pierre Guillaume Ledan, Deputy Managing Director of Unscripted Programming at the M6 Group, praised the format: ‘We immediately loved this format because it ticks so many boxes: it’s a concept that feels very current, reminiscent of a famous mystery game but with real staging, humor, and suspense. It’s a family-friendly, intergenerational show that can bring together young and old around a life-sized whodunit," expressed.
"A Party To Die For" is a format by ITV Studios Netherlands and Talpa Studios. The format is distributed internationally by ITV Studios.
