Just in time for Sunny Side of the Doc, Autentic Distribution has released its new Summer Slate with a strong History line-up focussing on contemporary history as well as Travel and Wildlife Conservation programming. “Our latest additions cover all the major programming trends, from escapism to wildlife and conservation programs to contemporary history titles”, Mirjam Strasser, Head of Sales & Acquisitions, sums up.

The sales outlet of factual content house Autentic has added a feature documentary on the 20th anniversary of the Euro in 2022 called "Secret History of the Euro" (90’) by Taglicht Media. Award-winning Italian-British film director and journalist Annalisa Piras paints the most complete picture ever made of something that is more than a currency, but a symbol for unity and peace as well as a curse.

To remember the dissolution of the Soviet Union 30 years ago, Autentic Distribution has added "The End of a Superpower: The Collapse of the Soviet Union" (52’) by German prodco Hoferichter & Jacobs. The one-off looks at the former superpower Soviet Union, its people and the impact on today’s political structures with contemporary witnesses and politicians. Pilot Productions explore another empire that exists to this day in a mini-series: "Building Empires: China" (3x60’). The three-part series looks at the history, culture and values that has made China such a resilient civilisation and how these have affected modern China today.

The docu-drama "JFK’s Love for Europe" (52’) produced by Vincent TV follows the young Kennedy on his summer trips to Europe. With high-quality re-enactments, the doc shows an adventurous Kennedy that is looking for his way in life.

A lighter History production is the in-house production "Light & Glamour: History of the French Riviera" (52’) that gives access to never-before-seen archival footage on the golden days of the glamorous Côte d’Azur and the most famous Grand Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

Other programming being shopped includes the Wildlife title "Survival of the Fittest in the Alps" (52’) by German prodco doc.station. The in-house Wildlife conservation series "Wildlife Diaries Australia" (6x45’) that follows sanctuaries and scientists on their fight against destruction of natural habitats, while Berlin Producer’s "Apennine Mountains – The Wild Heart of Italy" (2x45’) embarks on a cinematic journey along the Apennines, the backbone of Italy. "The Stone Men" (6x45’) by Italian prodco GiUMa Produzioni is returning for a second season.

In addition, Autentic Distribution has added "Colossal Machines" (6x45’), which is the second co-production between Canada’s Go Button Media and Autentic after the hit Science series "The Animal Within" (6x45’). "Colossal Machines" is now available for pre-sale.
