Boat Rocker, an independent, integrated global entertainment company, has greenlit four new and returning original unscripted series through its partnership with production company Shark Teeth Films. The latest slate of new commissions reflects the success of the alliance between the two companies and comes on the heels of a string of global deals for the expanding Shark Teeth content portfolio.
Natalie Vinet, SVP Global Distribution, Boat Rocker Studios, said: “The intrepid team at Shark Teeth Films continue to unearth the most extraordinary stories in the most far-flung, inhospitable places on our planet. Their projects are delivering robust sales and thrilling audiences worldwide. We’re delighted to strengthen our relationship with Shark Teeth for these new series which will take global audiences to remarkable places to enjoy pioneering and gripping discoveries sure to astound and inspire them.”
Adrian Carter and Tom Mudd, Founders and Executive Producers of Shark Teeth Films, said: “At Shark Teeth Films, our mission is to create premium access-driven documentary franchises and unscripted content to engage and enthrall global audiences. The support of Boat Rocker has been indispensable in growing our hugely popular established series and enabling us to tell exciting new stories, too.”
Following the huge global success of the first four seasons of "Secrets in the Ice" (36 x 60’), which now airs across more than 60 territories, Boat Rocker greenlit a fifth season of the show (10 x 60’) due for delivery in Q1 2026. The latest series uncovers previously inaccessible mysteries and relics once frozen in time in the earth’s coldest places and now exposed for the world to see amid our changing climate.
Using cutting-edge CGI, archive footage and expert interviews, "Discovered by Disaster" (10 x 60’) examines mysterious curiosities that have been uncovered by extreme weather and calamitous incidents. The series returns for a second season set for delivery in early 2026.
The enthralling new documentary series "Secrets Beneath the City" (10 x 60’) will dive into the hidden worlds beneath our feet, venturing deep beneath urban streets to uncover remarkable tales of ingenuity, survival and human ambition. From the subterranean crypts of Europe and hidden wartime bunkers to mysterious, unexplained tunnel networks, cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking research is now enabling archaeologists, historians, and scientists to tell stories that reshape our understanding of human history.
"Abandoned Inventions" (10 x 60’) is a new series that sorts fact from legend as it hunts down history’s most radical and dangerous inventions. Many of history’s most incredible innovations were abandoned, forgotten or deliberately erased. Could these inventions hold secrets to potentially reshape our future? From doomsday devices to unsinkable ice ships and ancient weapons irreplicable even with modern technology, "Abandoned Inventions" focuses on military innovations, using cutting-edge CGI reconstructions and first-hand testimony from experts and insiders to uncover the real stories of why they disappeared. The series will deliver at the end of 2025.
In addition to greenlighting this slate of must-see unscripted series, Boat Rocker continues to see strong global demand for Shark Teeth’s content. Season four of "Secrets in the Ice" has landed new broadcast deals with Seven One (Germany), RTI (Italy), and Bell Media (Canada) while season one of "Discovered by Disaster" has been snapped up by National Geographic (U.S.), Seven One (Germany), RTI (Italy), Blue Ant Media and Bell Media (Canada).
The sales add to the growing international success of Boat Rocker’s thriving unscripted portfolio which includes Weather Gone Viral, Claw Hunters, The Truth About My Murder and How I Got Here.
