Boat Rocker secures a raft of sales for heart-warmingly humorous mixed media "Olga da Polga" (Season 1, 13 x 11’ & Season 2, 15 x 11’), tween dance drama "The Next Step" (Season 9, 22 x 30’), and acquisitions for ghoulish comedy "The Strange Chores" (Season 3, 26 x 11’).
Live action mixed series "Olga da Polga" is based on the best-selling books from Michael Bond, (Paddington Bear) and it has been sold to NRK in Norway, RTE for the Republic of Ireland, and TVO in Canada. This series produced by Maramedia follows the adventures of loveable guinea pig heroine Olga da Polga and her animal friends as Olga’s exotic imagination runs riot.
In addition, season 9 of "The Next Step" has been sold to multiple global broadcasters and streamers, including Corus in Canada, RTE for the Republic of Ireland, and ABC and Stan in Australia. The live action scripted series is the global hit reality dance drama for tweens – chronicling the trials, tribulations and triumphs of A-Troupe, a group of dancers at The Next Step dance studio. Season 9 of the series is produced by Boat Rocker, with the participation of the Shaw Rocket Fund, and distributed globally by Boat Rocker and BBC Studios.
Finally, season 3 of "The Strange Chores" has been acquired by RTE for the Republic of Ireland, TVB in Hong Kong, Turner Broadcasting for Italy, and MBC for MENA (incl. Worldwide Arabic). The spooky 2D animation produced by Ludo Studio and Media World Pictures, follows the kooky exploits of two teenage wannabe warrior-heroes and a spirited ghost girl as they try to master the skills they need to replace an ageing monster-hunter by doing his strange supernatural chores. Season 3 premiered on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in early June. "The Strange Chores" Season 3 ranked in the top 8 Big Kids shows on the ABC Family channel in the month of launch, for both key Kids demographics. Season 3 is currently the #8 ranked ABC Big Kids show of the year-to-date based on Total Audience (TV + ABC iview).
