Madd Entertainment announced brisk sales for four of its newest hit series: “The Good & The Bad,” “Leyla,” “Far Away,” and “Portrait of a Scandalous Family.” Each of these series just launched in Türkiye this season, and now they will reach audiences across Western Europe, the Middle East, CIS and Latin America.
One of the season’s popular new dramas is Ay Yapim’s “The Good & The Bad,” which airs Sunday nights on Show TV under the title Deha. It features Aras Bulut İynemli (“The Pit”) as a genius mathematician who escapes the ghetto only to be drawn back by his estranged father, a notorious con artist who is played by “Family Secrets” actor Uğur Polat. All-star cast also includes international superstar Taner Ölmez (“A Miracle”), Melis Sezen (“A Woman Scorned”), Ahsen Eroğlu (“The Agency”), Onur Saylak (“Crash”) and Seda Akman (“My Wonderful Life”). It has already been sold to Russia and CIS.
“Leyla,” produced by Ay Yapim, is one of the most hotly anticipated new series in the global marketplace, being an adaptation of Globo’s international hit series “Avenida Brasil.” Madd has already secured a dozen commitments for this rags-to-riches tale of revenge, including Croatia, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, MENA, Mexico, Montenegro, Panama, Romania, Russia and CIS, and Spain. This drama features powerful performances from a remarkable cast, including Gonca Vuslateri (“Mother”), Cemre Baysel (“Twist of Fate”), Alperen Duymaz (“Last Summer,” “Crash”), Halil İbrahim Ceyhan (“Dirty Laundry,” “Legacy”), Cengiz Bozkurt (“Black Board”), and Zeyno Eracar (“Family Secrets,” “Endless Love”).
“Far Away” follows a woman coming from Canada being trapped in an Eastern town of Türkiye that has kept fans on the edge of their seat and helped earn commitments from multiple territories around the world, including Israel, MENA, Romania, Russia and CIS, and Spain. “Far Away” is an Ay Yapim production inspired by the international hit series Al Hayba by Cedars Art Production (“Sabbah Brothers”) and written by Gülizar Irmak (“Ömer,” “Time Goes By”). It features Sinem Ünsal (“A Miracle,” “My Little Girl”), Ozan Akbaba (“The Father,” “Kuzey Güney”), Müfit Kayacan (“The Game of Destiny,” “Brave and Beautiful”), Gonca Cilasun (“Street Birds”), Alper Çankaya (“The Family,” “Our Father”) and Mine Kılıç (“Wings of Love”).
Medyapim’s “Portrait of a Scandalous Family” is a brand-new historical true story set in the last days of the Ottoman Empire, featuring an illustrious family who helped define Türkiye in the twentieth century. With only three episodes aired, “Portrait of a Scandalous Family” has already garnered sales from Israel and MENA. “Portrait of a Scandalous Family” features an all-star cast, including Vahide Gördüm (“Bitterlands,” “Mother”), Meryem Uzerli (“Magnificent Century”), Fırat Tanış (“Farah,” “Evermore”), and Devrim Yakut (“Dirty Laundry,” “Chrysalis”). The series is written by acclaimed novelist and screenwriter Hande Altaylı (“Woman,” “Mercy”) and helmed by Bahadır Karataş, who directed the Super Series “RU.”
