Corus Studios secures sale with Motortrend and Sevenone Entertainment

In addition to the two major international deals the Canadian-based company has sealed in the U.S. and Germany regions, it has also greenlighted “Sarah’s Mountain Escape" as part of its 2022/23 catalog, consisting of 24 titles.

Corus Studios recently unveiled a set of content deals with Motortrend Group in the US and Sevenone Ent. Group in Germany. The media company also greenlighted “Sarah’s Mountain Escape.” 

 The Canadian-based company sealed the deal with MotorTrend TV through its partnership with Discovery, which was launched for the purpose of expanding its sales abilities. The sale to the American network includes Season 1, 3 and 4 of “Rust Valley Restorers.” The popular restoration series will air on MotorTrend TV and stream on the MotorTrend App. Corus' agreement with the German broadcaster, SevenOne Entertainment Group consists of a large amount of home renovation content, including “Making It Home with Kortney," "Dave," “Farmhouse Facelift," “Big Food Bucket List” and “Backroad Truckers.”   

The original content team at Corus is led by Executive Vice President of Content and Corporate Strategy, Lisa Godfrey as Senior Vice President of Original Content, who works alongisde longtime TV veterans Krista Look as the Director of Lifestyle and Rachel Nelson as the Director of Scripted and Factual. Worldwide sales for Corus Studios are led by Rita Carbone Fleury and Leyla Formoso for Latin America. The company has sold over 600 hours of content to date this fiscal year. 

Among the sales is “Sarah’s Mountain Escape, starring HGTV Canada designer Sarah Richardson. The show, produced by Insight Productions in association with Corus Studios, is set to be filmed this summer and is slated to premiere on HGTV Canada in 2022.  It forms part of the company's worldwide offering for 2022/23, consisting of over 24 new and returning titles.

The title features Canada’s best-known designer, Sarah Richardson, heads west to take on her biggest challenge yet, purchasing a dated and drab 5,000-square-foot Bavarian-inspired B&B in Whistler, BC. Audiences will step inside Sarah’s life with husband Alex and daughters Robin and Fiona as they travel across the country to transform the property into an efficient and profitable, four-season luxury vacation rental.
