"Joachim and the Apocalypse"
TVCO International has secured international sales and management of TV and Theatrical rights of Delta Star Pictures' successful film "Joachim and the Apocalypse" and will be premiere it in the US on February 26 within the framework of Los Angeles Italia Film Festival.
"Joachim and the Apocalypse" was released in Italian cinemas on December 5 and is still being screened in several Italian cities in the early months of 2025, with showings already scheduled for April and beyond. The film, produced and distributed by Delta Star Pictures and directed by Jordan River, was shot in ultra-high resolution 12K and is inspired by the apocalyptic visions described by Joachim of Fiore, the herald of the Third Age in salvation history.
More than just a biography, the film explores the profound ideas of its protagonist, whose influence extended far beyond his time. Joachim of Fiore not only inspired Dante Alighieri to place him in Paradise (Canto XII) as one "endowed with a prophetic spirit", but also left a lasting impact on great thinkers and artists such as Montaigne, Hegel, Joyce, and Michelangelo. Pope Francis recently mentioned Joachim of Fiore in his message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, stating that he "was able to articulate the ideal of a new spirit".
The film features American actor Nikolay Moss ("The Cobblestone Corridor") and Australian-British actor Bill Hutchens ("Kin Spirits") as well as, for the Italian cast, Francesco Turbanti ("Margini"), Elisabetta Pellini, rapper G-Max, Giancarlo Martini and Yoon C. Joyce ("Gangs of New York").
The film was made with the contribution of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Calabria Film Commission Foundation, the Lazio Region, with the patronage of the Province of Cosenza, the Sila National Park Authority, the Pollino National Park Authority, with the collaboration of the FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano and with the support of numerous local authorities.
