Italian production company Delta Star Pictures has presented its new film  “Joachim and the Apocalypse” in the frame of Marché du Film in Cannes.  Weaving between dreamlike experiences and mystical visions in the year 1200, the film is the work of an array of international professionals.

The Italian actor Remo Girone is set to play the founder of the Florian Order and the casting crew has extended its sights internationally for other roles. Two of the names under consideration are Felicity Jones (Oscar candidate as best actress) and Adrian Paul (lead actor in the Highlander series).

Directed by Jordan River and produced by Delta Star Pictures, shooting will begin later this year and continue into 2022 (COVID permitting). The physical locations are in Italy (Lazio, Calabria, Basilicata, Marche, Sardinia and Apulia) while others, such as the ancient holy city of Jerusalem, will be created using state-of-the-art 3D computer graphics.

Several professionals are expected, including Davide De Stefano (production designer) and Silvia Frattolillo (Costume designer). Original costumes by English fashion designer Eva Scala.
