Cannes Film Festival 2024: FilmSharks bets on Argentinian thriller and a new animation

FilmSharks is presenting Sebastian Schindel's new crime/psychological-thriller feature film "A Silent Death" (93') to buyers in the Cannes Film Festival and it’s having its Marche du film Market Premiere. Starring Argentinian actor Joaquín Furriel (“Descansar en paz”), Soledad Villamil ("A Secret in their eyes") and Alejandro Awada ("El Bar"), the film has taken by TWDC/Disney's Star Distribution for theatrical release in Latin America in 3Q-4Q 2024 and after for Streaming in STAR+.

"A Silent Death" is set in the depths of Patagonia during the 80’s, where a hunting guide stumbles upon a shocking crime involving his niece, forcing him to investigate and to confront the haunting secrets of that era of dark years in his purse of justice. The film was produced by Bufalo film’s Esteban and Hori Mentasti ("The Wrath of God"), Nicolas Veinberg ("My Penguin Friend") and Pampa films Pablo Bossi ("Nine Queens"), Cabe Bossi and Pol Bossi.

FilmSharks also announces the world premiere of the first And Brand New Theatrical Trailer of "Dalia and The Red Book" ahead of its World Premiere market screening in Cannes at the Marche du film. EPIC Games also joined the project, a TWDC’s Star Original production with Disney’s theatrically releasing the film in October 2024 across Latin America and later in their OTT platforms STAR+ and DISNEY+.



Argentinian filmmaker David Bisbano directs Dalia, which is inspired by "The Never Ending Story" and "Corpse Bride" and follows the adventures of a girl who finishes the book started by her late author father. Animation film was produced by Argentina’s Vista Sur, Mi Perro Producciones & FilmSharks, Spain’s Doce/Mr. Miyagi, Perú’s Golem Studio, Brasil’s Cine2, Colombia’s Signos Studios and Ecuador’s Matte.

Already announced deals include: TWDC Latin America owned STAR Distribution; Little Brother for German speaking ; to Nashe Kino for Russia and the Baltics, AV-Jet in Taiwan, Muse Ent in Singapore, and Nos Lusomundo in Portugal.
