Dori Media International, a division of global production and distribution company Dori Media Group (DMG), Mexico City-based Atenea Media and veteran production executive Joshua Mintz, have signed a production partnership, expanding their established relationship in Latin America. The deal was announced by Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group, Atenea Media President Ana Celia Urquidi and Mintz.
Mintz, who will continue serving as Dori Media International’s Chief Content Officer, will oversee the partnership and also become a partner in Atenea Media. Dori Media will also be a partner in the venture. Atenea Media recently served as Dori Media’s production partner on the successful remake of the Spanish comedy ”LaLola” for ViX.
The partnership with Atenea Media comes on the heels of Dori Media announcing it had expanded its sales operations to India, where it’s office is led by Devdatta Potnis.
“We’ve truly enjoyed working with Ana Celia and the team at Atenea in Mexico and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship in the region and build on our initial successes together,” says Dori’s Palti. “And Joshua Mintz, who has extensive experience in the region, will oversee our relationship with Atenea while continuing in his role at Dori Media.”
Ana Celia Urquidi added: "I have known Nadav's and Dori Media's significant influence in our business for a long time, and having produced ‘Lalola’ with Joshua convinced me that it was a great moment to make this alliance. I am sure that this strategy will allow us to grow within the industry, offering our customers carefully selected products with firm development and impeccable production."
Joshua Mintz stated: "This is an extraordinary opportunity to partner with my friend and colleague Ana Celia Urquidi at Atenea Media. With the support of Nadav Palti and Dori Media, I am confident it will serve our clients and audiences with great success."
Earlier this year, Dori Media began selling the new Spanish-language episodes of ”Lalola,” which successfully debuted in February on ViX, as well as the series’ format rights to global territories outside of Latin America and the U.S. ”Lalola,” which is produced by Dori Media International, is a modern-day remake of the hit International Emmy-nominated romantic comedy that originally aired in 2008-2009.
Dori Media also recently announced the opening of sales for two of its big new action-drama series, ”Amia” and ”Indal”. ”Amia,” which was filmed in Uruguay and Argentina, was inspired by the terror attacks of 1992 on the Israeli embassy and 1994 against the Argentinian Jewish community. ”Indal” is an action-packed series that follows the kidnapping of a police officer by a group of Ethiopian Israeli youth.
