ENDEMOL SHINE BOOMDOG TO DEVELOP UNSCRIPTED SERIES WITH MENTALISTS AND MAGICIANS

Division of Endemol Shine North America, Endemol Shine Boomdog, has signed a few illusionists, such as mentalists and magicians. The company is developing several potential unscripted series featuring the individuals. Head of Development, Endemol Shine Boomdog, Alvaro Godoy announced the plans for content. “We are aware of the tremendous interest that both the Mexican and Latin audiences have in magic and illusionism and we want to support new and exciting talent in this space,” Godoy said.

The creatives the studio will be developing the content with include mentalist Santiago Michel, who is currently in residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, and the Mexican magician duo team of Joe y Moy, who are behind the popular Más Que Magia show that has traveled the world. “With such an original project, I couldn’t think of a better partner to work with than global production powerhouse Endemol Shine Boomdog,” Michel said. “They like to embrace challenges and to take bets on different content. I look forward to bringing a dystopian experience to viewers around the world. Exciting times ahead.”

Michel conducts show of comedy and mind-reading. His current Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood, Ilusión Mental, is the first all-Spanish permanent show on the famed Vegas strip. Michel has widely introduced mentalism as an entertainment genre to Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide and offers his audiences a rare and compelling glimpse into the supernatural.

Joe y Moy’s act “Más Que Magia,” has been watched by millions on major stages all around the world. They have performed on over 25 TV shows in Mexico and the U.S. and are the only magicians in the world that have presented their show inside a plane. “We decided to believe in magic and extraordinary things have happened in our lives since then,” Joe y Moy  said. "One of them is this deal with Endemol Shine Boomdog. We are excited to work as a team with this group of professionals in entertainment, to bring magic and astonishment to millions of viewers through the screen.”

Earlier this year, Endemol Shine Boomdog announced its addition of comedic creatives, along with a development of a slate containing new original scripted and unscripted comedy series. Some of the acclaimed actors and comedians include Fran Hevia from “Se Rentan Cuartos,” Alex Fernandez, Michelle Rodriguez, Ricardo O’Farrill and El Diablito. Boomdog is also home to “La Reina Del Sur.” Gaston Pavlovich and his Mexico City-based production company Fabrica de Cine also have a development and production deal with the studio.
