ENDEMOL SHINE GROUP EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH SAMSUNG TV PLUS

Two of the company's channels will launch in the U.S and a new channel will launch in Germany. The launches follow the successful launch at the end of 2019 for three genre-based channels on Samsung’s TV Plus service in the UK, in addition to channels launched across Europe including France, Italy, and Spain.

Endemol Shine Group announced the extension of its partnership with Samsung’s TV Plus, with two of its channels launching  in the U.S and a new channel in Germany. “We are very pleased to expend this strategic partnership with Samsung TV into new markets, which is a testament to both strength of Endemol Shine’s catalog and Samsung TV’s position in the OTT market," Kasia Jablonska, Head of Digital Distribution and Monetisation at Endemol Shine Group said. Launches in the U.S last week include new channel Sterling Drama and content from Endemol Shine Group’s extensive library, such as Robert Carlyle fronted mystery drama “Hamish Macbeth,” “The Hour,” starring Ben Whishaw, Dominic West, and Romola Garai, and factually inspired historical drama, “The Mill.” Samsung TV Plus will release its Deal or No Deal channel in the U.S, which will showcase the country’s version of the hit game show hosted by Howie Mandel. “Hamish Macbeth” is a Zenith/Skyline production for BBC Scotland, “The Hour” is a Kudos/BBC America co-production, “The Mill” is produced by Darlow Smithson Productions, the US version of “Deal or No Deal” is produced by Truly Original, a subsidiary of Endemol Shine North America. “Peaky Blinders” is a Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions for the BBC. “Real Humans” is produced by Sveriges Television and Matador Film, “Gracepoint” is produced by Shine America, Kudos Film & TV, and “Imaginary Friends.”

In Germany, scripted drama channel Der Serienkanal launched last week and features hit series including “Peaky Blinders,” “Real Humans” and “Gracepoint.” The US and Germany launches follow the successful launch at the end of last year for three genre-based channels on Samsung’s TV Plus service in the UK, in addition to channels launched across Europe including France, Italy, and Spain. To distribute their award-winning content to Samsung TV Plus service, Endemol Shine Group partnered with Wurl, the leading provider of streaming video distribution and advertising services for connected TV.

The company showcases its catalog of content beyond linear through licensing and self-publishing content and curated channels across a variety of digital platforms, such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Amazon, Roku, and Tubi.
