Espresso Media International gets multiple sales for topical feature documentary "Oleg" (1x85’ 4K / HD) that reveals the life story of Oleg Vidov, tracing his rise to stardom in the USSR and his three decades in Hollywood following his defection to the West. Espresso have licensed the documentary narrated by Brian Cox to Sweden’s SVT, Israel’s Channel 8, Current Time TV, RTS in Serbia and ERR in Estonia.

“We’re delighted to announce such a strong array of international sales on the award-winning, 'Oleg',” says Jess Reilly, Espresso’s Head of Sales and Acquisitions. “Not only is Oleg’s story unbelievable with many twists and turns, but it’s rich in culture and history and is an incredibly compelling and thought-provoking watch, particularly against the backdrop of the current situation in Ukraine. We are proud it will be playing in a number of high-end documentary and culture slots worldwide, with many of our long-standing clients.”

Often referred to as the Robert Redford of the Soviet Union, Oleg is one of the most-celebrated and well-loved actors of Soviet cinema. But no amount of fame could save him from a system that tried to control his life, ultimately leading him to defect from the USSR and move to America, where he starred in films such as "Red Heat" with Arnold Schwarzenegger and "Thirteen Days" with Kevin Costner.

"Oleg" is directed by award-winning director Nadia Tass ("Amy") and the voice of Oleg in the documentary is played by Costa Ronin ("The Americans"). The documentary has screened at over 20 film festivals globally, to critical acclaim.
