FILMSHARKS KEEPS A VERY ACTIVE PRESENCE AT CANNES VIRTUAL MARKET

Buenos Aires-based sales agent has reached a raft of international deals for the titles "High Tide" "Legions", "Love Can’t Wait", "Ghosting Gloria" and "The Others.

Argentinian sales firm FilmSharks has announced a raft of international deals in the frame of Marché du Film virtual edition in Cannes. Guido Rud, CEO & Founder has struck a deal with Somos for all rights of "High Tide" ("Marea Alta") in the US, AV Jet for all rights in Taiwan, and HBO Europe for pay-TV and SVD rights for Eastern Europe. France, Spain, Germany, Australia, and Latin America are under discussion.

FilmSharks has also boarded world sales and remake rights to Argentinian horror "Legions". Currently in post-production, the film follows an incarcerated man who must summon his powers of sorcery to escape and rescue his daughter from danger. Cast includes Germán De Silva (Wild Tales), Lorena Vega (Tigre), and Ezequiel Rodriguez (Soy Luna). Genre specialist Coruya Cine is producing. The film has been selected for the Fantaspoa co-production market and is a work in progress selection at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.

On the other hand, HBO Latino has taken U.S. pay TV/SVOD rights to Spanish language rom-com "Love Can’t Wait" ("El Amor No Puede Esperar").  The film is due to be available on HBO from January 2021 after a deal was struck by Leslie Cohen and Rebecca Vazquez on behalf of HBO and Guido Rud on behalf of FilmSharks.

Guido Rud has also snapped up worldwide sales and remake rights to Uruguayan genre mash-up “Ghosting Gloria” (“Muerto con Gloria”), a mix of eroticism, comedy, and the paranormal and BTF Media has snagged format rights of Alejandro Amenabar’s horror classic “The Others” from FilmSharks subsidiary the Remake Co. and Enrique Cerezo’s Video Mercury Films.
