"Ferocious Wolf"
FilmSharks sealed major deals in Cannes for Gustavo Hernandez’ new 2023 film "Ferocious Wolf" (“Lobo Feroz”), based on Tarnatino’s film "Big Bad Wolves". The distributor has sold the film to Palace Film for theatrical release in Australia/NZ, AV-JET for theatrical release Taiwan, Nashe Kino for theatrical release in Russia/CIS, TelevisaUnivision’s ViX for Spanish speaking Latin America and the United States, Netflix in Spain for SVOD which has been on #2 for weeks after its Theatrical Premiere with Filmax, ENEC Alvaro Caso for theatrical in Uruguay, AMC for TV/SVOD in Eastern Europe. France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Germany/GAS are In discussions.
"Gustavo is branded as one of the top Genre Iberoamerican director’s of the last decade, and Top buyers have huge appetite for genre films that can fly in between rich flavors and several layers from black comedy, trough thriller and horror. We expect more top deals in Cannes," noted Guido Rud, CEO at FilmSharks International.
"Ferocious Wolf"( 105') was Internationally Premiered at BIFFF (Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival) last April, and Asian Premiere shall be in June at one of the Asian top festivals (TBD) The film was produced by Ignacio García Cucucovich, María Luisa Gutiérrez & Guido Rud (FilmSharks International / Mother Superior Films / Bowfinger International Pictures), and co produced by Esto Tambien Pasara / Basque Films.
"Ferocious Wolf" is distributed by Filmax in Spain and internationally by FilmSharks International and tells the story of a brutal murder of a little girl and a suspect that avoids arrest due to lack of evidence. Working separately, her mother and a cop decide to do something about it outside the limits of the law. The film is stars by Javier Gutiérrez ("Campeones"), Adriana Ugarte ("Durante la Tormenta"), Rubén Ochandiano ("Undercover"); Juana Acosta ("El Inocente").
Ignacio García Cucucovich and Guido Rud are also developing Gustavo Hernandez’ next feature film and a third version of "SCRIPT" is already in the works with Jumma Fode ("You Shall Not Sleep") as writer, and Gustavo Hernandez. There will be the third time that FilmSharks and Mother Superior collaborate on a film production.
