Globo and the Panvision Cultural Association have entered into a strategic partnership to develop Ecovision, a sustainable production label aimed at the Latin American audiovisual market. The initiative seeks to promote responsible practices and drive the sustainable transition of the region’s creative sector, with an approach aligned to local culture, territory, and realities. The agreement is valid until 2027.
The project includes the development of a proprietary digital solution, with regional metrics and integrated tools for planning, monitoring, and recognizing sustainable best practices throughout the entire production ecosystem. The partnership reinforces Globo’s commitment to actively engaging in the debate around environmental solutions in Brazil, with a focus on building transformative alliances within the creative sector.
One of the key differentiators of the partnership is the transfer of technical knowledge accumulated by Globo through the implementation of its Green Productions program, in place since 2023. Panvision will have access to the app developed by Globo, along with the planning and measurement methodologies used in its productions, enabling the dissemination of the know-how behind Globo’s environmental actions to other contexts and realities. These tools are expected to help democratize access to ESG practices in the audiovisual sector, including independent producers, and potentially lead to the creation of an internationally recognized, auditable certification.
The project also foresees the continuation of the carbon calculator adaptation, initiated through a cooperation agreement with Promálaga, a Spanish organization focused on business promotion and talent attraction, as well as training initiatives for professionals in the creative economy and encouragement of sustainable practices from the early stages of projects, such as development and scriptwriting.
By highlighting the importance of regionally adapted solutions, Globo reinforces its commitment to sustainability in the audiovisual sector. According to Maurício Gonzalez, Director of Globo’s Shared Services Center, the partnership with Panvision is a strategic step toward aligning ESG practices with local contexts. “Discussing sustainability in audiovisual demands a sensitive look at our territory. This partnership with Panvision represents a collective path to strengthen ESG practices that make sense within the Latin American reality, respecting our cultural, social, and economic contexts.”
For Marilha Naccari, president-director of Panvision and coordinator of research and development at Ecovision, the partnership expands the reach of green practices and creates a collaborative path to transform the entire sector ecosystem: “Bringing together Globo’s experience in green productions with Ecovision’s methodologies is a key step to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices in the audiovisual sector. This knowledge exchange enables us to create adapted and inspiring solutions for the entire production ecosystem. We are on the path of something unique and transformative: a methodology conceived by Latin Americans for Latin America, aimed at a just transition in the audiovisual sector , and in the many industries involved in our productions, such as architecture, design, fashion, gastronomy, hospitality, among others,” commented.
