Incredible Film to globally distribute "The Forgotten Battle"

Incredible Film has secured global distribution rights for "The Forgotten Battle." The film which originally premiered on Netflix in multiple territories will be featured on the Dutch sales agent’s slate at MIPCOM. "We are delighted to have the film on our slate this year at MIPCOM – The Forgotten Battle has already proved a huge hit to audiences around the world and we look forward to sharing the story with more buyers," Daniëlle Raaphorst, CEO of Incredible Film said.

"The Forgotten Battle" will join features "Rocco and Sjuul" and the live action fantasy epic "Fight For Freedom" upon forming part of Incredible Film’s Mipcom slate. Rights for the title in the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland and German speaking Europe have been sold to Dolphin Medien. Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia rights are sold to Media Squad in Slovakia.

The film is a Dutch-Belgian co-production from Levitate Film and Caviar, and has the second highest budget in the history of Dutch cinema at €14.2million. The project is part-funded by Netflix. The screenplay is by Paula van der Oest and Alain De Levita, produced the film.

Tom Felton Gijs Blom, Jamie Flatters and Susan Radder star in the film, which launched originally on Netflix in 2020. The Forgotten Battle has been a huge success with audiences around the world, climbing to Netflix’s No.1 in the US, Canada, UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and France on the day of premiere.  “'The Forgotten Battle' is a uniquely powerful story, depicting the consequences of war through three different perspectives," Raaphorst said. "Matthijs van Heijningen combines these true stories with modern cinematography and special effects, with a standout international cast including Tom Felton."

Led by Dutch filmmaker Matthijs van Heijningen, "The Forgotten Battle" is a trilingual war drama based on a true story. Three young lives become inextricably connected; a Dutch boy fighting for the Germans, an English glider pilot, and a girl from Zeeland connected to the resistance. Their paths merge and collide at the backdrop of a war-torn Europe, culminating in the visceral Battle of Walcheren Causeway during WWII in 1944. Their choices differ, but their goal is the same: freedom.
