ITV has promoted Callum Dziedzic to Drama Commissioner, reporting to Polly Hill, ITV’s Director of Drama. In his new role, Callum will work on ITV’s drama slate alongside Polly Hill and Commissioning Editor Huw Kennair-Jones. His promotion follows his tenure as Assistant Commissioner, Drama and Comedy, a role he has held since January 2023.
Callum Dziedzic said: “I’ve loved working with Polly, Nana, and the scripted team to showcase the brilliant British writers and producers shaping today’s drama and comedy landscapes. I’m excited to build on that by championing more fresh voices and unexpected perspectives in drama - finding stories that challenge and push our storytelling in bold new directions - while always keeping mainstream audiences at the heart of everything we do.”
Polly Hill said: "I’m delighted that Callum is stepping up to Commissioner - I have no doubt he’ll be brilliant in the role. He has fantastic taste and a deep understanding of what makes an ITV drama. I love working with Callum, and I’m so pleased he’ll continue to be a key part of my team, championing outstanding drama for ITV.”
Since joining ITV’s commissioning team from Patrick Spence’s ITV Studios label, Callum has played a key role in delivering several high-profile dramas and comedies, including the upcoming "Code of Silence," starring Rose Ayling-Ellis, as well as "Karen Pirie," "Piglets," "Professor T," and "Grantchester."
He was selected for ITV’s high potential leadership programme Amplify in 2023, and in the same year Callum also played a key role in delivering the 'ITV Studios Disabled Writers in Development' initiative, which aimed to develop a talent pool of disabled writers to prepare them to pitch and be commissioned by wider industry.
ITV Drama has had a strong start to the year, boasting the most-watched returning series across any channel or streamer with "Unforgotten," and the most popular new drama of 2025, "Playing Nice." Forthcoming highlights include the return of the critically acclaimed medical thriller "Malpractice" and the highly anticipated "Code of Silence."
To support its growing slate, ITV is currently recruiting for a new Assistant Commissioner, Comedy and Drama, to replace Callum in his previous role.
