ITV Studios has secured a Scripted and Non-Scripted deal with CBC in Canada

The new content sales agreement between the distributor and the North American media network will include various comedy, drama and factual titles, such as "Ten Year Old Tom," "Coronation Street," and "Line of Duty," among many others.

ITV Studios recently confirmed a content deal with CBC, based in Canada, for a slate of Scripted and Non-Scripted titles. “We are excited to extend our long-running Coronation Street partnership with CBC, along with a top-notch list of amazing scripted and factual titles from across the globe,” Craig Bohland, Vice President Sales, Canada, at ITV Studios, said. “This includes shows from a rich number of territories including the UK, Australia, Sweden, and the USA.”

The catalog, consisting of titles like “Ten Year Old Tom,” “Bump Series 2,” and “Showtrial.” will also include “Coronation Street,” among various other dramas, comedies, and factual shows. “This is an exciting deal for CBC audiences in Canada. Coronation Street has been a sustained favorite since it first debuted on CBC in the 1960s, and these new, acclaimed titles complement our original Canadian shows with a distinct selection of best-in-class series from around the world,” Jenna Bourdeau, Senior Director, Acquisitions at CBC, said.

The move serves as an effort on behalf of the Canadian country to advance further its commitment to environmental sustainability in the production industry. ITV has also pledged to become a Net Zero carbon establishment by 2030, with part of its efforts displayed upon its rollout of sustainability training and tools across all of its 60 production labels.

In the Scripted space, this includes winter premieres on the CBC Gem streaming service of “Showtrial,” from the producers of “Line of Duty” and “Vigil,” World Productions; Swedish police procedural series “Thin Blue Line” by Anagram Sweden and the second series of the highly-acclaimed adaptation of the best-selling novel by Malorie Blackman Noughts + Crosses. Factual titles include “The Queen Unseen,” Paul O’Grady’s “For The Love Of Dogs” Series 10, and the “Royal Variety Performance 2021.”

Comedy dramas “Bump Series 2,” an original comedy-drama created and co-written by Kelsey Munro, which follows Nathalie Morris as Oly, as well as “Spreadsheet” by Northern Pictures, will also debut exclusively in Canada on CBC Gem. “Greyzone” by Cosmo Films, a series about a drone engineer held hostage in her own home by terrorists, is also returning to the public broadcaster’s streaming service. Work Friends’ adult animation “Ten Year Old Tom” was also premiered exclusively on the platform.
