Keshet International has completed a number of pre-sales deals for the BBC One feature-length documentary “9/11: The Twenty-Year Anniversary” (w/t), produced by Top Hat Productions. To date, the distributor has finalised sales of this film in France (Canal+ Group), Denmark (TV2), Sweden (TV4), the Netherlands (RTL), and the United States (Discovery).

“Two decades may have passed, but the events of 9/11 still live on for millions of people who saw this tragedy unfold live on their TV screens. We are honored to be able to make this thoughtful and prestigious documentary available to buyers all over the world and help mark this important anniversary with their viewers,”  said Keren Shahar, COO and President of Distribution at Keshet International.

Christine Cauquelin, EVP Documentary and Factual for the Canal+ Group and Head of Documentary TV Channels, added: “The events of 9/11 are still felt today around the globe and securing this landmark documentary for our viewers means we can acknowledge this moment in history with a fitting tribute to those whose lives were changed forever”.

Directed by BAFTA-Award winner Arthur Cary, “9/11: The Twenty-Year Anniversary” (w/t) will be a landmark retelling of how terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and Flight 93 twenty years ago changed the world forever. Featuring a cast of contributors who haven’t shared their experiences before, this feature-length documentary will chronicle the story of the two-hour period when the terrorists attacked, juztaposed with a parallel narrative that looks at how those two hours changed the lives of those who were there. With past and present interacting throughout, Cary’s film will also bring to life for viewers how the world continues to be shaped by these tragic events.

“9/11 is a remarkable story that never ended for those who lived through the tragic events of that day. The twentieth anniversary is an opportunity to take a fresh look at the events two decades ago and to see how they continue to play out in the lives of those who were there,” Darren Kemp, Executive Producer, commented.
