"Perfect Storm"
KO Distribution has finalized a deal with German public broadcaster ARD for the popular comedy series "Perfect Storm" (originally produced for SRC). This agreement, made possible thanks to the partnership with Aroma TV lead by Barbara Vallant, grants ARD rights to Season 1 of the show, with an option for future seasons and the feature film spin-off.
The series, which has five seasons available and a sixth currently in production, follows the life of Isabelle, a 39-year-old single mother. It is described as "a series about the mental strain endured by strong and modern female characters," tackling the everyday chaos of managing three children, a career, an ex-husband, and a chaotic love life. The show is known for its humorous and relatable take on family, separation, and the pressure of trying to keep everything together.
"We are delighted to partner with ARD and bring 'Perfect Storm' to German audiences," said Mia Desroches, Vice-President, Global Sales & Partnerships, KO Distribution. "This series is a perfect example of the universally relatable stories we aim to distribute. Its honest portrayal of the joys and challenges of modern life, combined with its sharp wit, makes it a perfect fit for a broadcaster as esteemed as ARD."
Alexander Milanes, Deputy Managing Editor of ONE at ARD, announced, "We are exceptionally pleased to have obtained this distinguished series for ONE and ARD. The creation of the German-language version proved to be an extremely fun endeavor. We value the series immensely and trust that our audience will experience the same level of enthusiasm."
"Perfect Storm" has already achieved significant international success, with previous sales to France (France TV, IDIPPER), RTV Slo (Slovenia), RTBF (Belgium), and TV5 World.
