MarVista Entertainment has signed a multi-picture content agreement to co-produce a minimum of five original, live-action kid and family movies with MiMO Studios. The deal was led by former Nickelodeon President Cyma Zarghami. “I’ve had such admiration for the leadership and innovation that Cyma and her team have exemplified throughout their careers, with a visionary approach to franchise-spurring programming," MarVista Entertainment EVP, Creative Affairs Hannah Pillemer, said. "I'm excited to be working alongside them to continue to provide amazing content in the kids and family space, with an eye towards increased representation.”

The deal will allow MarVista represent exclusive titles from MiMO Studios content for development, acquisition, financing, productions, and distribution around the world. MiMO will also develop and produce content from MarVista’s catalog.

The agreement was facilitated by Janet Savage, MarVista SVP of Business and Legal Affairs, and Madeira Ginley, MiMO Chief Operating Officer. “Our experience with MarVista and the entire leadership team there has been collaborative, innovative, and intuitive,” Zarghami said. “In my new role with an incredible, small and nimble team, I am thrilled to work with people whose values and aspirations match our own. We are eager to bring these projects to fruition with the MarVista team.”

In addition to projects with Nickelodeon, the independent entertainment studio has lent their expertise in family entertainment to titles that have launched on large streamers such as Netflix, including “Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever,” “Back of the Net” and "The Swap for Disney," the young adult comedy “Jessica Darling’s It List” for Amazon. The Olympic-inspired “Swimming for Gold,” was completed for NBCUniversal and Hulu. The deal also marks a continuation of MarVista’s collaboration with Zarghami, which has consisted of previous titles for Nickelodeon including the holiday movie "Tiny Christmas" and the family comedy movie "Nicky Deuce, as well as the “Power Rangers."
